Getting the following System log event every 2-3 seconds. Have also noticed ramdisk is full (output below). Restarting only offers short-term relief (less than 10 minutes)

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Have you rebooted the NAS yet?
If-not, please do-so now. You may need to force it.
Edit: ah, I see you have done this.
Something is filling that tmpfs. This is usually because:
Something is writing to the admin user’s $HOME, which in QTS is /root
Something is writing to the filesystem root /. This would be OK on a real Linux distro, but can’t be done in QTS.
Post file-listings from each of these locations if you’re unsure what should be there.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I’m really only setting up as shared folders to map from my Windows laptop.

Nice work!
OK, in /root you have a ~ 17MB file called backup.txt
It shouldn’t be there. You’ll need to move it somewhere else or delete it.
Thanks. That shouldn’t have been there - I think a environment variable didn’t resolve..
Ramdisk is down to 89% - still seems too close to 100% for comfort?

/root is the default $HOME for the admin user, which is also the only user that can SSH in on QTS 4.2.6.

89% is fine for that tmpfs - on a correctly working QNAP NAS.
Brilliant. Predictably, the System Events have also stopped.
Thank so much. Much appreciated.
