TBS-464 and QAI-U100 don't recognize

Hi,

I have a TBS-464 and I just added the QAI-U100 to the USB 3 Port. I restarted the QNAP and expected that this is recognized and that I can use it.
I have the firmware: QTS 5.2.6.3195

Any ideas what I can do?

Hi @konne the TBS-464 does NOT seems to support QAI-U100 any AI accelerator card.

I’m not sure which team will be responsible for adding QAI support to new models…but before that, could you let me know what do you want to do with the QAI accelerator card?

I just wanted to use it for QuMagic so that the Facial, Object Recognition are not taking the main CPU for hours at 100%

Once QMagie is done indexing and doing all this to your library (it will take a while), it settles down and doesn’t take much after that. I don’t know if the AI accelerator would help that much…

The AI cards are designed and promoted to make that faster and independent from the main CPU.

@haru0 Could you already elaborate who is internally responsible to support them.
In the end if you already support them for other devices it should be not complicated to compile the right usb drivers and co just also in the packages for this device.

OK. Good to know. I know that having a GPU video card does nothing when doing this stuff with QuMagie. Glad that they are making things work with this card. Appreciate you letting me know.
