temporarily Windows Server 2012 Backup with Hyper Data Protector

Hello,
I know that Windows is very old. The new server will be ordered within the next two weeks, but last week the LTO drive died.

Can I now use Hyper Data Protector to save backups on a QNAP NAS?

It is not necessary that Windows 2012 is officially supported; it just needs to work.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks

What about Veeam? Server 2012 not supported anymore ?

hi,
i have only windows server 2012 no veeam.
will the Hyper Data Protector works on Windows server 2012?
Thanks!

Not sure what you mean…veeam is an extra program you download to backup your machines.

If HDP does not support server 2012 (no idea…I do not have servers running that old) then try veeam (they have a fully functional free version)

or

Hi,
sorry my mistake!
I thought veeam can only backup esxi and hyper v.

But with veeam i need an additional PC for the Veeam Backup & Replication?

I have to install the agent on the Server, and on an second system the backup & replication Software, right?

No one test the qnap solution on Windows Server 2012?

Thanks

The first link is just the client and the target would be SMB share of your NAS…that easy

Hello,
I have tested the Hyper Data Protector in a Windows Server 2012 virtual machine, and it seems to be working.
