Hello.
I’m really in trouble because my NAS has become read-only, and eventually it got unmounted, making it completely unusable.
If anyone has information on how to fix this, could you please let me know… ![]()
Storage pool (system is on a separate SSD): 1TB RAID0 (500GB x 2)
- Volume A (2TB, thin volume)
- Volume B (2TB, thin volume)
- No snapshots
With this setup, I was continuously writing to Volume A, and eventually the free space in the storage pool became 0MB, causing Volume A to become “read/delete”.
At that time (in hindsight), the network recycle bin was enabled, so I couldn’t delete any files from Volume A at all. So, I tried restarting the system for the time being.
After that, Volume A became “unmounted” and I couldn’t even read the data anymore.
Volume B was “read-only”.
In that state, I found that right after booting, only Volume B was in “threshold reached” (read/write possible), so I hurriedly managed to completely delete about 50GB.
After that, nothing changed automatically, so I restarted again.
Then, both Volume A and Volume B became “unmounted”, and now I can’t do anything.
Looking back, I think I should have disabled the recycle bin and deleted files while Volume A was still in “read/delete” state, but I didn’t expect that just one restart would make it completely unusable…
For now, I have opened a QNAP ticket, but I haven’t received any reply. Techwind, the distributor, responded quickly and helped, but they said only QNAP can handle the technical part, so I’m stuck.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
