TS-1655 Quts Firmware Update to 6.0.1

Hi All,

I’ve initialized my NAS with latest QuTS build 5.2.10.3568 upon setup. I’ve checked for firmware updates and that was showing as the latest and greatest. Once the system was initialized and pools created I went to check the firmware tab in control panel and it was saying to update to: QuTS hero h6.0.1.3550 build 20260709. I am wondering why it didn’t give me the option to update to that right away during initialization?? Or version 6 is not supported from initialization?

Should I update NAS to that 6.0.1 version or is it more like an untested early release?

But with a new NAS, you could do the update.

Important Notes
To ensure system security, starting from h6.0.0, QuTS hero no longer allows firmware downgrade. Only the QNAP-support can do that.

Since the model you’re using supports both QTS and QuTS hero, you can choose whether to switch to the other system during initialization. Whether or not to switch to QuTS hero really depends on your personal needs. May we ask if there are any particular QuTS hero features you’re especially interested in? Thanks!
