Hi all, for a year now I have issues power up the nas. Two bleeps, no more. Only thing helping is to pull out and back in of the adapter.
Support claims that i’m starting to much processes. But i have an basic install.
Chatgpt suggest a stronger adapter.
Any further ideas?
Besides listening to AI slop for help.
Does this mean the NAS starts OK when you replug the power adapter or not? (Did not quite make sense to me)
Does the NAS start into setup without disks?
Does the NAS setup with a fresh never used disk?

Indeed, replug adaptor always works.
WakeOnLan, 5 out of 10 works
Front button, 1 out of 10
Never tried the other options

So to clarify: The NAS is not always able to boot.
If this also happens without disks, that is likely the NAS hw issue (support would probably asked you this..)

Power adapters do fail sometimes as well. So there could be an external power adapter issue. Or a hardware issue with the NAS..It is worth checking everything..
Could also be a drive issue where is it drawing too much power on startup. This is where testing without disks and with a completely different drive as @dolbyman suggested, would be a good indicator and place to start.

Im bit afraid in removing disks. Installation will not be lost.?
I guess you have no backup if you are afraid ? (ALWAYS have backups.. a RAID is NOT a backup!)
Anyways, taking the disks out while the NAS is switched off will not touch your data, no.
