TS-251A won't start

After a power outage (the fuse tripped), my QNAP TS-251A won’t start anymore and Qfinder can’t find it either.

After a few short beeps, only the basic noise (fan?) can be heard, and no LEDs are lit.

What can or should I do?

Hello,

Could it be that you’re posting in “German”?

If so, maybe a moderator (@dolbyman) could move the post to the German subforum. Thanks in advance.

You could remove all the drives and see how the NAS reacts then. This is described in step 3:
Cannot access NAS and Status LED is flashing green. What should I do? | QNAP

When you post in English and I only see German, then it’s the AI.
You can boot the NAS without disks. See step 3:
NAS cannot be accessed and the Status LED is flashing green. What should I do? | QNAP

With automatic translation enabled, separation by language is hardly necessary

Check the power supply. Remove the drives and try booting up.

It`s the only post i see in german.
I have disabled the automatic translation

That’s what the language categories are for – moved, and please post in the correct language!

May we ask whether you’d like to have the device repaired, or whether you’re interested in upgrading to a new device?

If the issue persists even after removing the hard drives and trying to restart, it’s possible that the sudden power outage caused a hardware defect. In this case, you are welcome to open a support ticket, and our support team will be happy to assist you. Since the TS-251A is a relatively older model, I cannot currently confirm whether replacement parts for a repair are available — this would need to be checked by our support team via a ticket.

Alternatively, you may also consider purchasing a new device. If you’re interested, we’d be happy to offer you a trade-in campaign.

This information is for guidance only. Thank you very much!

Thank you for offering your help.

Right now, my main concern is backing up the data on the hard drives. In this process, repairing the device or possibly buying a new one could be an option.

Please remember to think about backups in the future—a RAID is not a backup, as you can see here.
