Hello, I am new here in the community and kindly ask for help with troubleshooting. It’s about a TS-431 where Network 1 is not working. Network 2 is OK, so at the moment I am only using the TS-431 locally via RJ45 cable for data backup to my PC. The LED on LAN port 1 does not light up when I plug in the RJ45 connector. I have done the 3-second reset. The latest firmware update 436.2805 has been installed. I can’t configure the network with QFinder Pro, as only one interface is shown to me and the menu Network & Switches for configuration is not available. I already suspect that network port 1 has a hardware defect, and I would consider switching to a new modern NAS, but I would really like to clarify this with you first. Possibly, network 1 is just disabled. However, I can’t access this configuration. Thank you very much for reading, Friedhelm
Hi and welcome to the forum. ![]()
Please login to your NAS via SSH as the admin user, then run the following command:
ip a
… then post the result back here.
Is there anything in your device message log regarding Ethernet?
dmesg | grep -i eth
Good day, and thank you very much for your response with the test tasks,
which I have just completed.
ip a provides this information:
[~] # ip a
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,NOTRAILERS,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP qlen 1000
link/ether 00:08:9b:eb:32:c9 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 169.254.100.100/16 brd 169.254.255.255 scope global eth0

The kernel does not output any messages regarding Ethernet via dmesg
