Hello,
While recabling my home network cabinet and installing a new UPS, I accidentally powered off the TS-431P without a clean shutdown (disks were sleeping so I thought it was already off, my bad). Now it won’t finish boot:
- beeped at boot so firmware seems fine, the nas wasn’t doing anything at all when powered off
- pings fine
- No web UI, no SSH
- All 4 disks leds blinking together in sync very fast, like around 10Hz (4x4TB)
I hope it’s “just” doing a fsck and will come back online later? Is there a way to check what’s going on? Has been like this for around 1H already.
IF there seems to be disk activity, I’d leave it a few hours at least.
However, typically, you can still access the unit via SSH at this point, but not always.

Yep, at this point I think I can’t do anything but wait & hope.. maybe next year it will finish booting
Well, Happy New Year all, but it starts bad for my TS-431P. Disk lights have stopped blinking somewhere during the late night or morning, still pings but that’s it, no SSH or web ui
Is there a way to get some kind of console to check what’s going on?
Update: so I had no choice, I did a long reset (10s on the reset button, 2nd beep) and it worked, I could access it again with default user. Strangely, I didn’t even lose the file shares, I had nothing to do there, just re-do all other parameters and users etc…
Hi, regarding this issue, we recommend that you open a support ticket. Our Support Team will be happy to assist you further. Thanks!

Hello, thanks, but as I wrote in the update, issue has been solved by resetting the NAS, and hopefully without losing data. So no need to open a support ticket for now.
