System memory and connection methods for TS-462-4G

I am considering purchasing and have two questions I would like to ask.

  1. About system memory
Since the maximum memory in the hardware specifications is listed as “16GB,” I thought it would be possible to upgrade (replace) the memory.
However, when I skimmed through an English review, it stated that memory expansion is not possible.
Is it not possible to upgrade (replace) the memory?
Have you ever felt that 4GB of memory is insufficient?

  2. Since the device is equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port, I would like to connect and use PCs with USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports via USB, and connect and use other PCs via 2.5GbE.
Is it possible to share the same storage area between USB connection and LAN connection?

Thank you in advance.

P.S.
This is my first time posting on a site with this kind of interface.
If I have posted in the wrong place or made any mistakes, please let me know.

Hello, this is Spike.

  1. About system memory

It seems that this series has two patterns depending on the production period.
If it’s a recent model, it uses SO-DIMM slots, so I think it’s possible to expand the memory.

  1. Since it comes with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port,

Communication by connecting the PC’s USB port to the NAS’s USB port is not supported.
Therefore, I think you’ll need to connect to the PC via 2.5GbE through a switch or similar device.

I hope this answers your questions.

Spike,

Thank you for your reply.

In that case, I will consider products that are likely to be officially sold with peace of mind.

I see, so the USB port is probably meant for connecting HDDs and such, but I don’t have any plans for that, so I might consider the TS-433-4G as well.

Thank you very much.
