TS-464 firmware mismatch after migrating drives from TS-453B – drives flashing, can't access web interface

Hi all,

My old TS-453B was randomly rebooting under load so I purchased a new TS-464 and moved the drives across.

Old unit: TS-453B running QTS 5.2.9 Build 20260327, RAID 5, 4x 3TB drives

New unit: TS-464 running QTS 5.2.4 Build 20250321

After inserting the drives into the new unit in the same bay order and powering on, I received an email notification saying the firmware versions must match before the drive can be used.

The unit has been running for nearly two hours. All four drive lights are still flashing green. I cannot access the web interface via browser or QFinder – login attempts either fail or time out.

I have downloaded the 5.2.9 firmware file but cannot apply it as I can’t get past the login screen.

Has anyone successfully resolved this firmware mismatch during a drive migration? Any help appreciated.

Maybe you can try to shut down the NAS and remove the HDDs, then update the firmware to QTS 5.2.9 Build 20260327 from the initialization page to make it match the firmware with the old unit.

Then plug the HDDs back and restart the NAS?

Cheers Haru, I had to end up doing a hard reset as I couldn’t access the web interface. It’s all working now.

Hi @snapper-studio glad to hear it works normal.

If there is any issue after the migration, please let us know.
