TS-473A with PCIe-to-Coral Dual Edge TPU M.2

Hello Everyone,

I have Home Assistant running on a VM. I would like to use Frigate.

Since both M.2 slots are used with SSDs, I thought about using the unused PCIe Slot for 2x Dual Coral TPUs. There are adapters to use the Coral Dual Edge TPU M.2 with a PCIe slot, e.g. https://www.makerfabs.com/dual…er-for-two-tpu-cards.html

Does anyone have experience if this works with the NAS and Home Assistant in a VM?

Best wishes

QNAP has very specific driver requirements. If it’s not listed as supported on their site, then it’s likely not going to work.

You would be better off using one of the AI accelerators supported by QNAP.

Thank you for your comment. According to the compatibility list, there is QNAPs QM2 card listed:

What confuses me, is that the https://www.qnap.com/en/product/qm2-2p QM2 is advertised as to “add support for M.2 NVMe SSDs to a QNAP NAS”. Coral Dual Edge is not mentioned.

Is there any experience using a QM2 card with 2x Dual Edge TPUs?

The Coral device you show above may need to be used on the internal M.2 slots. I’m not sure. You may want to contact QNAP about it.

Thank you for your considerations. I just created a ticket.

Best wishes
