Are current TS-664 models compatible with memory upgrades? The available information is rather confusing, including units with soldered memory.
Official specs have both 4G and 8G models being 16GB memory compatible and in dual slot configuration, but at the same time there are reports of this not actually been the case.

All current TS-x64 have slotted memory, there was some revisions around 2021 that had soldered RAM,but not anymore

You can check with support, the price you would have to pay (if possible) is probably not far off a new NAS, as there is no “fix” for a different board layout.
That’s kind of what I figured.
If I’m spending money AGAIN I’ll probably go 4bay…

Regarding the soldered RAM models that may be floating around, can these still be upgraded using the second empty memory slot ?
They don’t have slots.
The main boards were redone to remove the slots and use ram chips.
If you have chips, you F’ed.
