TS-h1277AXU-RP running QuTS Hero h6.0.2.3591 [Power] The system was not shutdown properly last time.

Hi everyone,

I’m running two QNAP TS-h1277AXU-RP NAS units, both on QuTS hero h6.0.2.3591. Over the last few days, one of the units has started rebooting unexpectedly. After each reboot, the system log records the following message:

[Power] The system was not shutdown properly last time.

What’s strange is that my other NAS experienced the same behavior starting on 6/24/26. It would randomly reboot about once a week, but the issue eventually stopped on 8/2/26.

To rule out potential hardware problems, I’ve run S.M.A.R.T. tests on all drives and used memtester to check for possible memory issues. All tests completed without reporting any errors.

I’ve also gone through the system logs and activity around the times of the reboots to see if scheduled tasks, file transfers, or running services could be contributing to the problem. So far, I haven’t found anything that would explain the unexpected shutdowns.

The timing makes me suspect this could be related to the QuTS hero h6.0 firmware branch, as the issue appears to have started after upgrading to the initial h6.0.0.3500 release.

Has anyone else encountered random reboots on QNAP systems after upgrading to QuTS hero h6.0? Are there any known firmware bugs that could cause this behavior, or any additional troubleshooting steps you would recommend?

I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

The one question asked so far is valid, made sure the RAM is not faulty?
