I have a 13900t running fine in my 874. Wasnt as big of boost over the i5 as I was expecting but it was easy to do and enough to make it worth my while
What are you doing with your QNAP? I mostly use this for Plex streaming and file storage. To be honest, the i5 is probably already overkill (I have the i5 12400/32) but out of hobby curiosity I’m always thinking about what I can do next…
File server for movie/tvshows and some actual transcoding with FileFlows.
Runs Home Assistant server as well and a music server.
So do you think it’s worth the investment, the effort and the loss of warranty/support?
I think the additional cores helps quite a bit for me if anything. Its costly and you can get the i7 version 13/14 series for quite a bit cheaper and still get a good pickup in performance. Just depends on if the price is right for you since you have plenty for your plex streaming already probably
