Hey there, I tried to follow everything in advance and apply solutions where possible before posting here. My problem is: after my update, I can no longer use the twonky.server (which has been running and in use for several years) as usual. It starts briefly, then disconnects.
These are my components:
QNAP TS-269 Pro
QTS: 4.3.4.2814 Build 20240618
Twonky Version: Twonky Server 8.3-17
Currently, Twonky starts up properly but shuts down again after about 5 minutes.
From an SSH connection on the QNAP, I found this in the Twonky log:
[Error] - LOG_SYSTEM: upnp_accounting_license_twonky_load_locked : 0: 12001: /var/twonky/twonkyserver/twonky.license
I also can’t find or start the multimedia add-on. I’m not sure if I should just try installing TwonkyServerEU_8.5.2_x86-64.qpkg over the current one. Especially since there seems to be a Twonky license problem here. In addition, I read somewhere that an older QTS version 4.2.XXXX might also solve the problem; but I haven’t been able to find a download for that.
Sorry, I know that’s a lot of questions that have been bugging me for two weeks.
I’d be incredibly grateful if someone could shed a little light and maybe offer a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance for your effort.
Moved to the German section… please pay attention to the language!!
Which Twonky license was acquired? QNAP or Lynx?
Thank you very much for your quick response.
Unfortunately, I didn’t buy a license back then. I installed it via QNAP and used it for years. I’d even be happy to downgrade so I can use it the way I did before. I also thought about getting a license and looked for an offer from @QNAP. Since I’m well past retirement age, I’m probably just being clumsy about all this.
What would be the shortest, fastest, and cheapest solution?
PS: “Pay attention to language” … Does that mean I should write in English?
Thanks so much in advance
I don’t think there are any free Twonky versions in the German forum, but I can’t remember if they only work up to a certain QTS version.
I’ll check when I’m at work.
Post here in German and in English in the English section.
Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.
Have a great day!
Hi, I’m just home now. I should probably uninstall the existing Twonky via SSH, right?
I’ll get back to you.
Thanks a lot
If the existing QPKG was installed via AppCenter, it should also be possible to uninstall it that way.
Unfortunately not
The App Store doesn’t seem to include the components anymore.
An uninstallation via the “Unix level” should actually be possible.
I’ll get back to you.
PS: That’s the reason why I considered the older QTS version in the first place. Wish me luck.
