Unable to login in QNAP NAS even after soft reset

Hi all,

I had changed router and unable to login to my QNAP thereafter.
I had tried soft reset (hold reset button for 3 sec) but unable to login in with default username: admin and default password: admin.

My QNAP model is TS-228A and version is 5.1.9.2954.

Any kind soul can help me?

with 5.1.x admin/admin is not the default password anymore

Hello! Since I did a 10sec reset button on my NAS, how can I get my cloud key? Also my NAS was deregistered from myQNAPcloud.

The cloudkey is written on it (sticker)

If you do not have a sticker:

  • remove all drives (including SSD) from the NAS and find the key with Qfinder
  • calculate the cloudkey with another QNAP NAS
    /sbin/check_admin_def_pw -m 'MAC1oftheNASinquestion'

Thank you dolbyman! Could you please tell me if any of your cloudkey find suggestions will make me loose my data saved on SSD? Thank you.

No, first one is without disks and second one does not even involve your NAS

If you are worried about your data, create or review your backup strategy (AWLAYS have backups!)

If your NAS is registered with QNAP you can log into your QNAP account and get the cloud key for that NAS. Not sure if you can create QNAP account after the fact and get it, but I think you can create an account with the serial number and then log in and get it?

@Martins if you post your MAC1 address here, the community can advise you of your cloud key.
