Updated firmware and SMB update randomly changes user access to folders. Unsuccessfully able to change them back. Dropped back to older firmware and was able to correct folder access for users.
Any thoughts?
What was the firmware version and build you upgraded-to?
And the downgraded version and build please?
Downgraded to 5.2.7.3256 from 5.2.8.3359
Other problems included moving files from Windows or External USB to the NAS, causing it to freeze or just lose contact. So far, no problems after the downgrade. Have transferred a few terabytes. I can step up a few builds from where I’m at now to test.
I’m not sure when Recover USB when connection is lost was added as an option, but it could be as simple as dismounting the drive before removing it. I tried turning the option off, but it still didn’t want to forget the drive after it was removed.
