I’d like to buy a TVS-h674 and run it on RAID 6, i would like add more disks via an expansion unit but add these in the same RAID 6. Is it possible?
Expansion units can only run additional pools or volumes and cannot be added to internal arrays
The reason QNAP is not allow combine external expansion unit to internal arrays is because it adds risks - in case the external connect interrupts unexpectedly, the “mixed” array will broke.
Making them a separate pool/volume still allows you put contents/install applications on them separately.
