Hi everyone!
I’m new to this forum and I have my NAS dying!
My TS-251D ethernet port is no longer working properly. I’m using a USB Wifi Adapter ad a workaround.
I bought a USB Ethernet Adapter last week to recover an ethernet connexion, but no driver is compiled to handle it on the NAS. On a Linux computer, it is working fine using the Huawei NCM embedded AT channel support (USB_NET_HUAWEI_CDC_NCM).
So I tried to cross compile it using the QTS Kernel 5.10 and the Cross Toolchain SDK (x86), but I did not manage to generate the huawei_cdc_ncm.ko file.
Does anyone know how to make it or anyone can make it? I am not a software engineer and the challenge is too big for me!
Can’t you use a NIC from this list ?
Hello,
I am a bit disappointed as I just installed my new QNAP QXG-2G1T-I225 expansion card, but it does not fix my issue. My NAS still disconnect every 5 minutes ([Network & Virtual Switch] Interface "Adapter 2" disconnected.
).
I removed all the virtual switches, I turned off Power options (EuP, WOL) and I powered down my VMs and CTs.
What could be the real problem? The power supply? The motherboard?
Is there a way to diagnose precisely the issue?
Thank you for your help!
so your main port ethernet died, and now this new NIC card is dying. deja vue - coincidence?
what are the factors between the two? what are you connecting too, a switch, a PC perhaps, what? do we really have to guess every next detail?
A priori, the new NIC is still working.
Maybe it’s not a hardware issue after all, but a software one. (Even if, it still can be hardware…)
So, how can we know before throwing everything away?
