Virtualization Station - VM hard disk keeps growing for no apparent reason

Hello,

I’m running Home Assistant in the Virtualization Station. The required storage space of the VM keeps growing and growing, even though HA itself, including logs, doesn’t actually need that much space. HA itself reports using only 15GB. Currently, the VM disk is over 65GB and continues to grow.

Is there a way to shrink the virtual hard disks? I suspect there’s quite a bit of unused space.

I’d try searching in a HAss forum to find out why the KVM VHDs are expanding.

Changing the size of the VHD without backup/restore usually leads to data loss (since the raw image would need to be properly cleaned up).

the VM itself, or are there snapshots of the VM?
