VM Marketplace NX Witness Download / Install Issues

Hi,

Following the recent announcement of QNAP partnering up with NX Witness, I purchased a QNAP NAS to solely be an NX Witness server. I’ve followed the NX Witness guide, however when I click Deploy from the VM Marketplace in QTS, it starts deploying the virtual machine NX Witness (as a Background Task), but it never gets past 3.95%, after which it just hangs.

I can stop the background task and start again, get exactly the same results, although sometimes it stops at 3.71%, or anything between that and 3.95%. I’ve tried this several times now, and even left it running over the weekend, but the download never gets passed 4%.

The QNAP interface is a little new to me but I’ve worked with many other NAS interfaces. I believe it is setup correctly, and I have gotten other Marketplace VMs to work as a test (pfSense for instance).

I’m out of ideas, any help is really appreciated.

What is the NAS model and firmware version?

I have the TS-473A with firmware QTS 5.2.9.3499. Additional memory and additional SSD.

Additional SSD? Setup the system volume in RAID1 on SSD I hope

Hi, yeah, one 500GB SSD which is acting as the System volume. Then 2x 3TB NAS HDs for actual storage.

Male aure you turn that into a RAID1 and have the VM running from SSD and not HDD
