Hi,
I have a TS-853A, and 2 disk are in raid1.
The raid volume is near full, and one of the disk had bad sector so I need to replace.
I woul dreplace the actual disk (WD60PURZ-85ZUFY1) with a WD RED PLUS 12TB. So ASAP i can replace also second disk with a RED PLUS 12TB and then ScaleUp volume from 6->12TB.
- It’s possible?
- WD RED PLUS 12TB are still supported by my NAS?
Tnx in advance!
No, difficult to backup 6TB of data, for this i need to expand my storage.
Also on RAID1 do you thing is required? (I know, more backup, better is…).
Disk is RAID1, i remove the first that is a copy of all data, then after restoring volume with new disk i will chek that all is ok… Also after when i remove the secondo disk i will have a new copy of data that i can store untill new disk is in and volume restored…

6TB is very easy to back up…USB Backup drives extist with over 22TB of capacity.
Without backups you WILL lose data …question is when.

I know, i mean only a backup for be sure about the upscale process…
For the life… another is needed.
I m waiting for fibra connection, and then i will backup on AWS Glacier.
I know the 3-2-1 best pratice… maybe when i can i will think also a local backup on external hd.
