Web interface inaccessible

TS-128 home server. Once after a couple of months of unattended usage, I logged in into the web console, found out there was an update and got suggestion to restart it first. After the restart, the web interface was unavailable (“can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.178.49”), and so it was after some following restarts using power button.

The device is still serving files. The IP didn’t change. It is accessible over ssh.

I installed an update not that long ago, so it’s probably QTS 5.2.

Any ideas?

try to redo the update via qfinder

Thank you, that worked (though didn’t solve the problem).

Somehow I could then connect to the web interface using Firefox on Ubuntu, then found out it works on Safari on my Mac too, but FF on Mac says “Unable to connect” just as before - for whatever the reason.

Anyway, I have now a working solution.

That might be more to do with the Firefox version that you’re running on those clients. The latest FF defaults to allowing HTTPS only , which means your local browser connection to the NAS fails, as it’s just HTTP (no S).

You can override the defaults on FF or just make an exception for that address, as I have to on mine to connect with FF.
