Will TS-x73A work with 128GB RAM?

I possess both a TS-473A and a TS-673A, and while the hardware specifications permit an upgrade to 64GB RAM, I am curious if anyone has attempted upgrading to 128GB RAM.

Given the current high cost of memory, I am hesitant to purchase 128GB RAM solely to discover that it is incompatible with the device.

Thanks

AMD spec sheet says 64GB

Hello,

you can’t buy a SO-DIMM DDR4 with more than 32 GB, becauce 32 GB is the largest SO-DIMM DDR4 you can find.

Didn’t even think of this .. as DDR5 has 64GB sticks

I know that  However, I’m also aware that some have done something, and not just on QNAP systems, even though as Becker2020 says, largest DDR4 SODIMM is 32GB.

Do you have any links where they have done this on dual RAM slot equipped embedded Ryzen units ?

No, I do not. I was informed about this topic through a demonstration, and the RAM upgrade discussion was also present in the same thread. However, I was unable to locate the link, which is why I am attempting this method.

So if 32GB is the biggest DDR4 SO-DIMM available, then there’s not much of a way to get beyond 64GB. I would say the Ryzen Embedded series CANNOT use DDR5 memory. Memory is very specific to the processor type. So I would not waste my time even trying.

Is there a reason you want to go larger than 64 Gig? That’s a lot of memory…

I was just curious because I didn’t have time to dive into the whole discussion, and since I saw it on someone else’s phone, I couldn’t track down the link. So, I was hoping someone had also read it and could share the link or what and how it was done, since there were visible hardware mods.

That is exactly what I am trying to find  Someone showed me something else on Reddit, and there was a post about this, and I figured, “Okay, it’s QNAP, so I’ll just find it.” But it seems like it’s proving to be a bit more challenging than I thought

Just because someone on Reddit says it is possible doesn’t make it so.

Thus my question

Well, to reiterate:

If the latest size of SO-DIMM for DDR4 memory is 32 GB, I’m no entirely sure how someone is expanding their system larger than 64 GB. So I don’t know how it is possible even if the CPU would support it. QNAP only offers two slots.
