Hello everyone
With the new firmware, my certificate is no longer valid. I can’t find anywhere to update it.
Please post German posts in the German subforum.
Which NAS model and firmware are you referring to?
NAS open on the network? (very bad idea)
I don’t understand that.
What exactly now?
that’s it, it’s open on the net
I can’t install the new firmware
Port forwarding to the NAS… turns a NAS into a target for malware
For example, gems like this one

There hasn’t been any mention of firmware so far (or was it originally about the actual firmware and not about problems since a new firmware?), only something about certificate renewal… if you have a different error message, please provide a bit more information.
I’m asking again which NAS model and current firmware is installed (see my first post)
ahh just saw that the answer was mistakenly in the quote
5.x doesn’t exist for this NAS
https://www.qnap.com/en/download?model=ts-231&category=firmware
The + was forgotten above… so always make sure to post the correct information.
Please try the latest firmware.
5.0 is no longer listed (too old)
https://www.qnap.com/en/download?model=ts-231%2B&category=firmware
Please manually load the current firmware (I posted the link)
If even the latest 5.2.7.3256 doesn’t work, then please open a ticket
Thanks, but how do I install it manually? Sorry, I’m a layman.
First Google link
Super, thank you very much, everything worked out, the signature is new as well.
Do I need to do anything else regarding possibly open ports?
It was a misunderstanding, I thought it was about an SSL certificate (which you only need if the NAS is accessed via FQDN).
But checking on the router whether UPnP is disabled and that there are no manually created port forwards is always a good idea.
Thanks, everything is working again. I have one more question: I can’t view my pictures on the TV via DLNA—do I need to enable something on the QNAS?
What protocol is being used? DLNA?
I personally use Plex (SmartApp on the TV and server on the NAS), even for my vacation photos.
