Hey there! I had not logged into my TS-233 in some time and recently lost my password manager and access to all my passwords. I tried the 3-second reset by pressing the little button in the back then trying “admin” and the MAC address but neither seem to work.
I honestly don’t remember what the firmware version is but it was probably last updated prior to May. Is there something else I may be missing here?
Pro tip: If you forgot the admin password, disable the admin account from another admin account. Then set a password policy that the current admin password doesn’t meet. Then enable the admin account and it will prompt you for a new admin password. No need to do the 3 second reset. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but I like it! You can change the password policy back while logged in as admin and then change the admin PW to something reasonable.
Haha, I guess it is a popular problem then. Do you know what happens if I run that Qfinder Pro without removing the drives? Or does it just force you to log in?
Well, you need a QNAP account to update software, to talk here, etc. So it is connected to your NAS. Why are you pushing back against the very simple and easy things we are suggesting?
I’m not sure if you read my comment and understood it or not; this account is not attached to the NAS, I literally created it to ask this question. I also have no other Qnap account else I would have logged into that to look.
Yes, I get that. But if your QNAP is online and able to get updates, etc, then it has to be tied to a QNAP account. If you are not tied to a QNAP account, then why don’t you do it? It will then be much easier for you to get support, etc.
We have given you the steps and tools to help you solve your issue. It’s your choice now if you wish to follow this or keep complaining.
The issue has been solved, thankfully, by dolbyman. No one was complaining, just that you and a few others seem to have either not read the original issue or not understood it. The suggestions, while they may have been helpful under normal circumstances, were completely missing the actual point. Thanks though.
