Some time ago, either here on the forum or in a help ticket, I asked about why SmartShare downloads were so slow. I was told my a QNAP employee that everything with the MyQNAPCloud access had to go through their servers in Taiwan. There was not global CDN for this.
The only exception is the QNAPCloud storage spaces where you can pick where you want your server…
From what I know the SmartShare has some bandwidth limit per session. But the response time (I mean, not transfer speed) shall be OK.
And currently the Global infra except China of myQNAPcloud shall mainly on AWS. Including the relay.
Thanks @HanzSung - so am I correct to assume then that not everything goes through Taiwan like I was told? That would be great. However, the bandwidth limits/speeds are really poor. I mean it is like 5 Mb/s. It’s been a while since I tried a large file download, but I know that a year or two ago, I was trying to share a video that I had shot and edited for a client and it took them forever to download it. It’s really a shame if modern speeds are not available on SmartShare links.

For the bandwidth we can open another discussion and ask other related team to involve. 
But I tried to use QVR Client App + myQNAPcloud relay I can view about 8 cells at same time without noticeable connection drop. So, it should be lifted from 5Mbps to some higher value, but I have not performed a stress test of our infra.

Here is more feedback with installed new mobile app @haru0 sent me today.
Connection to NAS (via relay like first time also) took less time, cca 8-10 seconds via previously 30 seconds (but that might be to the relay speed/connected users number at different parts of day so can’t really say much)
Connecting to cameras on main dashboard screen took 3-5 seconds so that seems to be faster now.
Going into playback is another 4-5 seconds and when i find “event” dragging the timeline still has dropouts but definitely seems more smooth now than with older version. As for playback (i use it with sound) it’s still choppy, like plays 2-3seconds then stalls play again for few and then go back to connecting or stall… So not sure is that much or any better than before.
But I think @NA9D might be right here that relay is very slow and that chops it totally to unusable. I say that because @haru0 sent me link to new app through his myQnapCloud and downloading 200mb file was going for 18-20 minutes :/. It was downloading at snail pace of 100-150kbp/s.
So if myQnapCloud uses same relay services (does it?) as QVR pro/Surveillance is then it’s no wonder why is it so sluggish/slow playback.
